Main Street.

A streetscape gathers many separate decisions into a single view. Shopfronts, upper windows, signs and gaps between buildings reveal the rhythm of a place without requiring a single spectacular landmark. Margolies’s Main Street photographs invite a slower kind of looking: read from one façade to the next, notice differences in scale, and follow where a sign interrupts the roofline. State and city filters allow neighboring views to be considered together.
