Miniature Golf.
Miniature golf turns a walk into a sequence of small encounters. Familiar objects become obstacles, landmarks shrink, and a course can suggest an imaginary journey within a compact plot. Margolies often photographed individual elements closely enough for their handmade character to emerge. Compare repeated motifs across locations, or follow one town through its different views. The result is less a single national style than a lively collection of local inventions.
